Lesson Two – The Octagon?? Really?

Lesson 3

The Noble Eight Fold Path

* 8 Fold Path

Every belief system has a path for life. This is usually a "Do not" based idea. However in the Zen way this is a "things to do" path. This is also referred to as the Dharma Wheel.

Yes this is an Octagon. And if you are a serious student of mine you know how much it matters. It is the foundation of all successful martial arts when it comes to self defense. If you are new to the Octagon follow this LINK.

Noble 8 Fold Path

1) Right View or Understanding - Insight into the true nature of reality
2) Right Intent - The unselfish desire to realize enlightenment
3) Right Speech - Using speech compassionately
4) Right Action - Using ethical conduct to manifest compassion
5) Right Livelihood - Making a living through ethical and non harmful means
6) Right Effort - Cultivating wholesome qualities and releasing unwholesome qualities
7) Right Mindfulness - Whole body-and-mind awareness
8) Right Concentration - Meditation or some other dedicated, concentrated practice
